How to Reauthenticate Your WooCommerce Store?
We have upgraded the WooCommerce Putler Connector to a faster, more secure WooCommerce REST API connection. To keep syncing your store data seamlessly, please re-authorize your connection using the simple steps below.
Step 1: Check for the Connection Alert Banner
If a data source is deleted or modified inside your Putler App dashboard, or if your local security tokens need an upgrade, the plugin will automatically detect it.
- Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
- Navigate to Tools > Putler Connector (or look for the Putler notice in your admin bar).
- If your store requires attention, you will be prompted with an admin notice indicating that a re-authorization is required.

Step 2: Trigger the WooCommerce Re-authorization Hook
You do not need to manually create keys or configurations. The plugin initiates the native WooCommerce authentication sequence directly:
- On the Putler Connector setup screen, locate the onboarding card.
- Click the large blue button, which will display as either "Reconnect Store" (if upgrading/refreshing an existing connection) or "Connect Store" (if setting up a fresh connection).
- This will instantly launch the standard WooCommerce REST API Application Authentication screen on your site.
WooCommerce Authentication Screen Workflow
Review the permissions request and click the "Approve" button to securely generate your API keys and grant access rights.
Note: Putler handles this connection securely using the standard WooCommerce REST API Authentication Endpoint workflow.
Step 3: Verify the Connection Status
Once you click Approve, WooCommerce processes the secure handshake credentials behind the scenes.
-
If you initiated this inside WordPress: You will be routed back to your WordPress Putler Connector plugin page. The onboarding card will update to show a "Connected" success state, confirming that data synchronization has safely resumed. You can switch over to your separate Putler App dashboard tab at any time to watch your live metrics update.
-
If you initiated this inside the Putler App: The application will seamlessly process the loop and refresh your active streaming analytics view instantly.
Troubleshooting Connection Errors
If you see an error during the approve state stating:
"An error occurred in the request and at that time we are unable to send the consumer data"
it means the server-to-server validation handshake was interrupted.
Ensure the following rules are met on your WordPress server:
-
Permalinks Setting: Ensure your WordPress site is not using "Plain" permalinks. Navigate to Settings > Permalinks and change your setup to Post Name, then click Save.
-
Firewall/Security Rules: If you use Cloudflare, Sucuri, or a security provider like ModSecurity, ensure that incoming POST requests to your site's
/wp-json/endpoints are allowed and not flagged as a bot or malicious key exchange.
Already have a data source(s) connected, but wish to add more? Follow these steps.
